Raid on Gyndine

The forces of the New Republic launched a raid against Gyndine, which was under the control of the Yuuzhan Vong, during the year 28 ABY. This operation was intended to provide new soldiers with combat experience in a guaranteed victory, as preparation for a future decisive major battle. Even though the Yuuzhan Vong forces were larger than Admiral Traest Kre'fey had hoped to engage, he nonetheless succeeded in annihilating the entire opposing army.
