Raid on Kiffu

The event known as the Raid on Kiffu transpired following an unsuccessful negotiation between Count Dooku, the commander of the Dark Acolytes, and Tinté Vos, the Sheyf leading the Kiffu Guardians.

The Unsuccessful Negotiation

Dooku's arrival on Kiffu led to a meeting with Sheyf Tinté Vos, where he proposed that the former Guardian align herself with the Confederacy. The Sheyf, however, remained unpersuaded by Dooku's impassioned arguments and declined to join the Confederacy, expressing her belief that her people would gain prominence after the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy had weakened each other.

Acknowledging his fears were confirmed, Dooku instructed his acolytes to attack the Sheyf's guards and assassinate her, thus initiating the conflict.

The Conflict

Quinlan Vos kills Kadrian Sey.

Despite their valiant resistance against Dooku's acolytes, the Guardians were significantly outmatched. With a clear path to the Sheyf, Quinlan Vos advanced towards her. Nevertheless, his reluctance to kill his aunt prompted Kadrian Sey to attempt the act herself. However, as she lunged at the Sheyf, Quinlan swiftly struck with his lightsaber, killing her and revealing himself as an agent of the Republic.

Subsequently, Vos grabbed his aunt and escaped further into her palace using a burst of Force-assisted speed. Dooku gave chase, ordering Tol Skorr to eliminate the remaining guards.

The Sheyf's Secret

As Tinté Vos protested Quinlan's actions, he halted in a secluded chamber deep within the palace. Upon revealing his allegiance to the Republic, he was met with accusations of involvement in a Republic plot to dominate and control Kiffu and Kiffex. During the argument between Vos and his aunt, Dooku unexpectedly appeared, claiming prior knowledge of Quinlan's status as an agent.

As Vos ignited his lightsaber and charged at the Count, Dooku deflected the blow, asserting that Vos was unaware of what he was protecting. Before the duel could continue, Dooku used the Force to restrain Vos, lifting him into the air and disarming him. As Dooku released Quinlan, Tinté accused him of deception and urged Quinlan to disregard his words.

Dooku countered by advising Quinlan to trust what he saw, alluding to the psychometric abilities of the Kiffu people. Vos argued that this ability could not be used on living beings, only inanimate objects. However, Dooku suggested that Quinlan enhance the ability with the dark side of the Force to enable him to do so.

Quinlan followed Dooku's advice and forcefully 'read' his aunt. He discovered that Tinté had murdered her brother to seize his position as Sheyf. Furthermore, he learned that she had made a pact with the Anzati who had come to Kiffex in response to Volfe Karkko's call. To finalize the agreement, the Anzati demanded 'blood of her blood', meaning a relative to feed upon. Discovering that Tinté had sacrificed his parents to the Anzati, Quinlan severed the connection and angrily demanded an explanation.

The death of Tinté Vos.

Tinté Vos confessed that she had done so to gain custody of Quinlan, intending to mold him into her heir. She also explained that she murdered her brother because she considered him too friendly with the Republic and the Jedi. Quinlan condemned her as a murderer deserving of death, a sentiment echoed by Dooku, who stated that justice demanded it. The Count then returned Vos' lightsaber so the Jedi might 'deliver justice' himself.

Quinlan Vos killed his terrified aunt, finally achieving full acceptance into Dooku's group of acolytes, confirming that his conversion was genuine.

Aftermath

Following the victory of Dooku and his acolytes, the CIS proceeded to take control of Kiffu. Zac'ryah Vos, another Guardian, was killed during this process.
