A Death Watch warrior's shoulder pad displays their rank through an insignia.
During the time of the Clone Wars, the Mandalorian warriors belonging to the Death Watch terrorist organization utilized a rank insignia for identification. These red symbols were displayed on the left shoulder armor plate. The quantity of corner lines on the symbol was indicative of a specific rank.
At first, the rank insignia was exclusively featured on the left shoulder armor pad, but it was later displayed on both shoulder armor pieces. The insignia itself was composed of two red shapes, octagonal in nature, with one nested inside the other, and presented in three distinct forms. One form showcased a single trapezoidal line situated in the top left corner, another displayed two trapezoidal lines positioned opposite each other in the top right and bottom left corners, and the final form exhibited trapezoidal lines on all four corners.
Despite her position as leader of the Nite Owls and a lieutenant within the Death Watch organization, Bo-Katan Kryze did not have the Death Watch rank insignia.
