The rantok was a blade, either wielded with one hand or two, that was historically utilized by the Ka'hren people.
This sword measured one and a half meters. Its sturdy, straight blade accounted for approximately 80% of its total length, with the remaining portion consisting of a wooden hilt. A crossguard, angled upwards, was positioned on both sides of the hilt. A small quillion, intended for trapping the blades of opponents, was located on the blade's flat surface.
For the Unfyr warriors, rantoks served both military and ceremonial purposes. Other Ka'hren individuals also favored rantoks over weapons designed for ranged combat. Nevertheless, the arrival of blasters resulted in the rantok's decline in usage, save for among the Unfyrs, who remained dedicated to them.
During the Rebellion era, rantoks experienced a resurgence in popularity. This was due to the rediscovery of Unfyr traditions and culture by the historical academic Kaltor Naklian. Notably, Naklian unearthed a rantok in excellent condition alongside the writings of prophets belonging to the Unfyr deity Ni'Shaw, interpreting it as a divine signal to establish the Ni'Shaw-Dak religion. Adherents of Ni'Shaw-Dak frequently acquired proficiency in wielding rantoks.
In the year 1 ABY, a spacefarer employed by Jabba the Hutt launched an assault on a Valarian depot on Tatooine. The aim was to procure a prized rantok sword for Jabba.
Rantoks were featured in the Star Wars Galaxies video game, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by Sony and distributed by LucasArts, before it was shut down on December 15, 2011.
