Rautog was a Gamorrean male who served as a guard for the Hutt Crime lord, Jabba Desilijic Tiure, during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY, he was stationed as a guard at Jabba's Palace located on the planet Tatooine.
Within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts, Rautog was one of thirteen Gamorrean non-player characters present in Jabba's palace. The game's servers were ultimately shut down on December 15, 2011. His presence created inconsistencies with other canon sources, which indicated that only nine Gamorreans were employed at the palace. This discrepancy was further emphasized by the absence of Jubnuk, Thug, Thok, Warlug, Ghana Gleemort, and Grissom in the game, implying that a total of nineteen Gamorrean guards may have worked for Jabba.
