Rax Joris, a degenerate male human who served as a prison warden, was in charge of the detention facility on Dosuun for the Imperial Remnant. When ennui overcame him, he would release inmates to see if they could successfully flee. However, they were always unsuccessful, as his proficiency with a concussion rifle was unmatched.
In the year 14 ABY, he orchestrated the capture of Jaden Korr by concealed Imperial Saboteurs. Korr had been undertaking a mission on Dosuun. After permitting Korr to break free from confinement, Joris opted to engage in his twisted "game" with the Jedi. He mocked and fired upon the Jedi from secure spots within the prison complex. Growing anxious about Korr's advancement through the facility, he then sought refuge in the hangar. Understanding that Korr would inevitably locate him, he armed himself with his rifle and lay in wait on the hangar's upper level, assured of his safety and his ability to eliminate the Jedi.
As Korr entered the hangar bay, Joris fired his concussion rifle, but Korr skillfully evaded the shots and ascended to the upper level where Rax was positioned. Korr prevailed over Joris and recovered his stolen lightsaber.
Gregg Berger lent his voice to the character of Joris in the video game Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
Rax Joris can also be defeated with long range weapons, like the disruptor rifle, from the bottom level of the hangar, without having to reach the top.
