Raxus Prime Imperial Shipyard

The Raxus Prime Imperial Shipyard served as an Imperial Star Destroyer building complex, positioned in orbit around Raxus Prime. A collection of Imperial-class Star Destroyers, alongside a group of Star Destroyers of an unknown class, formed the defensive forces for this shipyard. The Imperial Ore Facility, situated on the planet's surface, provided the shipyard with necessary metals via launches into space. In the year 2 BBY, Galen Marek, the apprentice of Darth Vader, arrived on the planet and launched an assault on the Ore Facility. He seized control of the ore cannon and utilized it to obliterate the shipyard.

Overview

Positioned in orbit above Raxus Prime, the shipyard was a sizable installation. It featured numerous smaller docks and construction areas dedicated to the manufacturing of Star Destroyers. The process involved gathering and melting raw metal from the planet's surface. This molten metal was then propelled into space via a large ore cannon located at the Ore Facility, providing the shipyard with the necessary materials for Star Destroyer construction. A fleet of various Star Destroyers, in addition to TIE fighters, provided security for the shipyard.

History

Following the death of the Jedi Kazdan Paratus at the hands of Galen Marek, Darth Vader's apprentice, the Imperial military constructed the shipyard. Raw metal originating from the planet's surface was supplied to the facility, where an ore cannon launched the metal to the station. This material was then used in the construction of Star Destroyers. Subsequently, Galen Marek stormed the ground facility, eliminating all Imperial troops guarding it, and subsequently commandeered the ore cannon. He then fired upon the shipyard, causing its destabilization and ultimate destruction.
