Luke Skywalker was accompanied by Rayf, along with his sister Jem Ysanna, to New Alderaan; his actions there were critical to the rescue of Jaina and Jacen Solo from the resurrected Emperor Palpatine. Following his sister's death, Rayf journeyed alongside Luke Skywalker to Nespis VIII. Subsequently, he joined Luke, Kam Solusar, and Empatojayos Brand on Vjun in a successful attempt to liberate the Ysanna tribal leaders who had been encased in carbonite by the Emperor.
Rayf met his end while safeguarding Anakin, the infant son of Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo, succumbing to a storm of Force lightning unleashed by Palpatine. He was known for his green lightsaber and his travels aboard the starships Jedi Explorer and Jedi Explorer II.
