A fuel depot, utilized by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, existed on the Inner Rim world of Sergia, a desert planet. Due to the risk of detection by Galactic Empire probe droids, General Carlist Rieekan dispatched Luke Skywalker to lure the droids away. Upon his arrival, Skywalker found the rebels exposed, leading him to task the droid R2-D2 with relaying a message. This message instructed the rebels to remain hidden until Skywalker could assist in their escape. Their subsequent evacuation, which included the thief Warba Calip, was successful due to Skywalker's diversion.
