Fighter Red

Fighter Red, also referenced as Red E Squadron or just Red Squadron, constituted a squadron of E-wing escort starfighters. They were assigned to the New Republic Defense Fleet Fifth Battle Group's Intrepid, which was an Endurance-class fleet carrier.

This squadron served as the carrier's premier interceptor force. General Etahn A'baht's own E-wing was a part of Fighter Red, stationed on the carrier.

In the time leading up to the Battle of Doornik 319, Fighter Red was among the squadrons ready for immediate deployment from the Intrepid. Upon the Intrepid's arrival in the system, Fighter Red formed a portion of the fleet carrier's fighter defense, most likely playing a role in the subsequent battle during the Yevethan surprise attack. Subsequently, as preparations were underway for the ultimate assault on N'zoth, General A'baht proposed that Luke Skywalker take command of the squadron for the Battle of N'zoth, an offer Skywalker declined.
