No Man's Land marks the 62nd installment within the Star Wars: Republic comic book saga. Dark Horse Comics released it to the public on March 17 of 2004.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and the clone trooper Alpha make their escape from the stronghold of Asajj Ventress, but are hunted by both Separatists and various bounty hunters. After a crash landing on a barren world, they find themselves trapped. The bounty hunters present Alpha with a difficult decision: abandon the conflict, or perish alongside his Jedi comrade. Will Alpha's training, which emphasizes survival for future battles, prevail? Or might the Force reveal an alternative path to survival before their time runs out?
Within No Man's Land, we witness the unveiling of a Tusken Raider without their mask for the first time in the series. However, the authenticity of this depiction remains unconfirmed. It's plausible that the image, appearing within Anakin's dream, is merely a grotesque visage born from his own anxieties.
Upon awakening from his disturbing dream, Anakin is inexplicably shown with both of his hands intact. (despite the loss of his right forearm at the conclusion of Attack of the Clones). This inconsistency is corrected in later panels. The error could be attributed to either the artist or the colorist involved in the comic's creation.
As the issue draws to a close, Alpha bids farewell to Obi-Wan prior to his departure for Kamino, where he is slated to train the next generation of Clone Commanders. Anakin suggests to Alpha that he should give the trainees names, rather than numbers, a suggestion Alpha says he will consider. This event may explain why, by the time of Revenge of the Sith, all commanders are referred to by names.
