Republic transport shuttle

The Republic transport shuttle represented a class of shuttle utilized by the Galactic Republic during both the Cold War and the Galactic War fought against the reconstituted Sith Empire, serving to ferry both military personnel and civilians to various planetary destinations.

This vessel was powered by a pair of engines, each connected to foldable wings situated on either side of the craft. The majority of the hull space was dedicated to passenger transport, while the cockpit was positioned, and noticeably protruded, at the rear. A ramp could be deployed from the ship's rear, providing entry to the passenger area, which was secured by a reinforced door. For defensive capabilities, the shuttle incorporated two dual laser turrets: one located at the front, directly beneath the nose, and another at the back, immediately ahead of the cockpit.

During the Separatist War, one such shuttle was responsible for delivering new recruits to the planet of Ord Mantell. Furthermore, a different shuttle was employed by the Republic archaeological team in their exploration of the planet Athiss. Several shuttles, which formed part of Strike Team Oricon, suffered crashes on the moon known as Oricon.

A piece of concept art created by Ryan Dening in 2010, labeled with the phrase "player flown ship", suggests the possibility that the shuttle was at some point considered as a playable vehicle within the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. Ultimately, the ship's role in the game was relegated to that of a standard transport for the Republic faction.
