"Return of the Slavers" is a comic strip that appeared in the fifth edition of the Star Wars Rebels Magazine, published by Egmont UK Ltd. Martin Fisher penned the story, while Ingo Römling provided the illustrations, and Gunther Nickel served as the editor. Its release date was May 20, 2015.
The narrative unfolds in 4 BBY, depicting a fresh batch of slaves arriving from the Lothal sector at the planet Oon. This planet is the location of a trading operation managed by a Zygerrian named MaDall, with a Muun called Abrish acting as the overseer. Among those enslaved is the Mandalorian Sabine Wren, whom MaDall singles out to be her personal slave. Meanwhile, back on Lothal, the rest of the Ghost's crew are desperately searching for Wren, unaware that she deliberately got captured with the intention of freeing the other enslaved individuals on Oon.
While covertly moving around the operation, Wren quickly realizes the gravity of the situation. Despite this, when MaDall captures and punishes her in front of the other enslaved individuals, it sparks a rebellion against their supervisors. The prisoners utilize the electric rods carried by MaDall's guards to unlock their shock collars and begin an uprising. Upon realizing that the prisoners, including Wren, are fighting back, MaDall challenges Wren to a one-on-one fight to settle the matter. Wren swiftly defeats MaDall and brings her aboard the Ghost, returning to Lothal where the Spectres await.
Instead of executing her, Kanan Jarrus insists on releasing the Zygerrian. A defeated MaDall claims she has nothing left to live for, leading Wren to encourage her to use her resourcefulness to oppose the Galactic Empire instead.
