Redeemed Revan's Lightsaber

Redeemed Revan's Lightsaber

Near the end of his life, this lightsaber served as the personal weapon of Revan.

History

After his failed attempt to assassinate the Sith Emperor, Revan was captured by the Emperor and held in stasis for a period of three hundred years by the Jedi. During the period known as the Cold War, the Republic learned of his imprisonment through the intervention of Meetra Surik's Force ghost, who had remained at Revan's side for the entire duration. Consequently, a Republic strike team was dispatched to Taral V with the objective of accessing a Gree computer to chart a course through the Maelstrom Nebula. They successfully accomplished their mission and freed Revan.

The violet lightsaber accompanied its owner to the Foundry, a large space station situated inside an asteroid, which allowed it to rapidly produce vast quantities of droids. Revan would wield his lightsaber once more in combat against an Imperial strike force led by Darth Malgus, who sought to seize control of the station and eliminate Revan. Despite a hard-fought battle, Revan seemed to be defeated, but he vanished in a burst of light just before the final blow could be delivered.

Following his return to lead the Order of Revan, which was named in his honor, the lightsaber remained with the Dark Side-fueled warrior until his final defeat at the hands of a Yavin IV strike team comprised of Republic and Imperial forces. After merging with his Light Side self and regaining his wholeness, he left the lightsaber behind, along with his signature mask and robes.

Behind the scenes

This lightsaber made its debut appearance in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game created by BioWare and launched in 2011. In 2019, the character "Darth Revan" was introduced to the video game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, where he is depicted wielding this lightsaber, albeit with an inconsistent design: it displays four lateral ridges instead of the correct three. Another iteration of the character, "Jedi Knight Revan," which was released in 2018 in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, is shown using a different lightsaber, typically associated with the character's Sith identity, while the lightsaber used by the "Darth Revan" version is generally linked to his post-Sith persona. In 2020, the lightsaber became available in Star Wars: The Old Republic Cartel Market under the name "Redeemed Revan's Lightsaber".
