The comic book story "Revenants" was authored by W. Haden Blackman. Its original publication was in Star Wars Tales 18, and it was later included in the collection Star Wars Tales Volume 5. The narrative is situated in the year 25 ABY.
Some months following the death of Chewbacca, Han Solo is convinced by Lando Calrissian and his wife to cease his grieving and embark on a reconnaissance mission, venturing to the opposite side of the galaxy from the location of Vector Prime.
The Slave I intercepts Han's shuttle near Raxus Prime, resulting in it being shot down and crashing onto the junkyard moon. Han, documenting his experiences for Leia on his datapad, spends several weeks traversing the moon, crafting improvised weaponry and survival equipment to evade Boba Fett, who is actively pursuing him.
Eventually, Han understands that he is being tracked by multiple individuals, not just one Fett. At that moment, he encounters the actual Boba Fett. Fett then reveals to Han that this entire ordeal has been a training exercise. Its purpose was to eliminate the weaker candidates from the new recruits of the Mandalorian Protectors before they enter service for the Yuuzhan Vong. As mercenaries, the Mandalorians are motivated by financial gain, and the Yuuzhan Vong currently possess the most wealth within the galaxy. Subsequently, the Mandalorians depart, leaving Han stranded.
