Born on August 22, 1971, English actor, writer, and composer Richard Armitage is known for his portrayal of Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit film trilogy (which also starred Sir Christopher Lee). He also played an uncredited Bravo starfighter pilot in _Star Wars_: Episode I The Phantom Menace.
One of Armitage's initial experiences in the world of cinema was The Phantom Menace. Similar to his fellow actors Dominic West and Christian Simpson, Armitage has been asked about his brief appearance in the movie. Armitage was only on set for a single day during filming. Upon the film's release, Armitage was unable to locate himself in the final cut. He was uncertain if his character was ultimately depicted as a droid or a fighter pilot. However, he did recall delivering a single line to Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi, during an interview with Hollywood.com, an entertainment news website.
Following the publication of the 2019 novel Queen's Shadow, the author E. K. Johnston revealed that the character of Tonra from the novel is meant to be the same character Armitage played in The Phantom Menace.
