Romeo Treblanc was a holodrama actor of the Human male persuasion, who later transitioned into the world of business as the proprietor of the Galaxies Opera House on Coruscant, during the twilight years of the Galactic Republic. Always seeking attention, Treblanc leveraged his celebrity status to conceal a significant gambling addiction. He frequently journeyed to the Outer Rim Territories to observe and place wagers on illicit podraces, typically with unfavorable outcomes. During one such expedition to Tatooine to witness the renowned Boonta Eve Classic podrace, Treblanc encountered Diva Shaliqua, a Theelin hybrid in whom he perceived substantial operatic talent.
Regrettably for Treblanc, his persistent streak of misfortune in gambling plunged him into dire financial straits. However, a stroke of luck intervened when Supreme Chancellor Palpatine proposed to settle all his outstanding debts in exchange for exclusive access to a highly secure private box at the Galaxies Opera House. Treblanc readily accepted this proposition, and even extended a lifetime pass to the Opera House to Ottegru Grey, the individual providing the financial backing. Subsequently, Treblanc returned to Tatooine and liberated Shaliqua, with the intention of offering her a role in an upcoming musical production. However, she absconded from his custody, taking some of his valuables, leaving him once again facing the consequences of a misguided financial decision. Despite this setback, the Opera House thrived, and throughout the duration of the Clone Wars, it served as a gathering place for numerous members of Coruscant's elite society.
Romeo Treblanc's career began in the entertainment field, specifically as a performer in holodramas. This line of work brought him considerable public recognition, placing him in the company of the wealthy and celebrated. Although he retired relatively early, he continued to enjoy the attention and glamour associated with his former life as an actor. Consequently, he maintained close ties with the Coruscanti high society, ensuring that he remained in the public eye. In an effort to further extend his success and fame, he invested his resources into establishing the Galaxies Opera House. Situated in the upper Uscru District of Galactic City, the Opera House would eventually become a leading entertainment venue on the planet.
Treblanc's fame soon became a diversion, however, concealing his true nature: a dedicated gambler. Initially drawn to simple games involving cards and dice, Treblanc developed a keen interest in the highly dangerous and illegal sport of podracing. To avoid damaging his reputation, he would travel incognito, using disguises and aliases. On occasion, he would visit Outer Rim worlds that permitted podracing as a guest of criminal overlords, such as the Hutts.

While attending the Boonta Eve Classic as a guest of Gardulla the Elder, Treblanc encountered a slave named Diva Shaliqua. Shaliqua was a rare Theelin half-breed; the species was known to produce some of the galaxy's most talented opera singers. Treblanc was very interested in Shaliqua, stating that she possessed untapped potential and talent. Before leaving, he promised to see her at the following year's Boonta Eve Race.
Despite this potentially advantageous discovery, Treblanc's gambling skills were lacking, though this did not diminish his enthusiasm. Eventually, his determination led him into significant debt. As he was on the verge of losing the Galaxies Opera House, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine approached him with a proposition: he would discreetly settle Treblanc's gambling debts in exchange for a private box at the opera with enhanced security measures. Treblanc quickly agreed, and even offered Ottegru Grey, from whom the funds had apparently originated, a lifetime pass to the opera house.
As promised, Treblanc journeyed back to Tatooine and the Boonta Eve Classic to see Diva Shaliqua again. With his debts settled, he was able to purchase her from her owner, Jabba Desilijic Tiure, who had lost interest in the Theelin. Treblanc freed Shaliqua and brought her back to Coruscant, where he hoped to give her a minor role in an upcoming musical at the opera house. Unfortunately for both Treblanc and Shaliqua, the young half-Theelin left only hours after arriving in the capital, taking only her emancipation papers and several valuable items from Treblanc's residence. Once again, Treblanc realized that he had made a poor investment.

Despite this setback, the Opera House continued to thrive. In 19 BBY, Treblanc attended a performance of Squid Lake and shared his private box with Ottegru Grey, Tannon Praji, and Onara Kuat. Palpatine, his benefactor, was also in attendance, making one of his first public appearances after the Battle of Coruscant.
Romeo Treblanc was fond of being in the spotlight: having grown accustomed to it during his time as a holodrama star, he sought to continue it throughout his life. Initially, this was purely for enjoyment, but he began using it to conceal his distasteful gambling habit. However, he was a notably poor gambler, a fact that would not have been so detrimental if he had limited himself to dice and cards. Instead, his addiction to the high-speed sport of podracing plunged him further into debt. During his trips to the Outer Rim, he effectively used disguises and aliases, likely due to his acting experience. Despite the need for discretion, Treblanc scouted for talent during his Outer Rim trips, leading him to Diva Shaliqua. He trusted her enough to set her free, but once again, his financial judgment proved unsound when she abandoned him. Treblanc was also grateful for any assistance he received, offering complimentary services to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and Ottegru Grey, the two individuals who had rescued him from his debt.
Romeo Treblanc's initial appearance was in George Lucas' film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, as a background character in the Galaxies Opera House scene. He was portrayed by Rob Coleman. The character's backstory was developed by Aaron Sinner and Benjamin Christopher Norton Dawe through StarWars.com's Hyperspace feature, "What's The Story?." Sinner had initially chosen the name "Bor Nameloc," an anagram of "Rob Coleman," but Dawe's alternative anagram, "Romeo Treblanc," was ultimately selected. Sinner contributed the majority of the entry, but Dawe authored the retcon that consolidated Coleman's cameo in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace with his Sith appearance, retroactively inserting Treblanc into the former. Treblanc's backstory was later significantly expanded by "nelwyn53100" and Nathan O'Keefe in the Diva Shaliqua entry in the Databank, which detailed his exploits in the Outer Rim. It was further expanded by Zack Bossan and "magicofmyth2" in the Ottegru Grey entry, which provided context for Palpatine's generosity.
