Roni was a farmer inhabiting the planet of Vassek. At some point before or during 3 ABY, a smuggler provided the Galactic Empire with information, which led the Empire to dispatch Viper 058-V-2353, a viper probe droid, to investigate the farmers residing in a local settlement on Vassek. After the probe droid uncovered Roni's intentions to steal Imperial generators, an agent from the Imperial Security Bureau apprehended the farmer along with two of their family members.

During the Imperial Era, the farmer known as Roni made their home on the planet Vassek alongside their family. Sometime around 3 ABY, this farmer started formulating a plan to steal generators belonging to the Galactic Empire. Around that time, a certain smuggler came across some intelligence concerning anti-Imperial feelings on Vassek. Upon the smuggler's capture by Imperial forces, they divulged the information they possessed, which in turn caused the Empire to send Viper 058-V-2353, a type of viper probe droid, for investigative purposes on Vassek.
For a duration of six weeks, the droid kept watch over a settlement on Vassek, recording the conversations of local farmers, including Roni. Viper 058-V-2353 detected Roni's scheme to pilfer from the Empire and subsequently reported it. Following this, an agent representing the Imperial Security Bureau was dispatched to Vassek and placed Roni, along with two adult members of Roni's family, under custody. After this operation, the probe droid was sent back to the Empire's Derosha Six space station, and a record of its time spent on Vassek—including the discovery and subsequent capture of Roni—was stored on a datapad.
In 3 ABY, the outlaw Kay Vess managed to infiltrate Derosha Six and, while avoiding Imperial personnel, read the datapad that mentioned the farmer.
Roni's name was mentioned on a datapad in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws, which was developed by Massive Entertainment.
