Theed Royal Academy
The Royal Academy of Theed, also known as the Royal Academy, was a highly esteemed educational establishment situated in Theed, the primary city of the Naboo civilization on the planet Naboo. Exceptionally talented youngsters received training there to serve as civil servants, including promising young leaders who were being prepared for future responsibilities. One such individual was the future ruler Padmé Amidala, who was mentored by state instructors during her time as a student to develop her leadership skills.
The physical structure was characterized by a rectangular building featuring beige walls and a level turquoise roof, adorned with a small dome at its center, consistent with the city's overall architectural design. A reading room was also part of the academy's facilities, yet it was smaller than the one located within Theed Royal Palace.
Behind the scenes
Within current Star Wars lore, the Royal Academy's initial mention occurred in "Theed: Naboo's Capital City," an article appearing in the "Guide to the Galaxy" section of the twenty-fourth edition of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine, which was distributed around June 17th, 2015. It subsequently appeared visually in the 2016 reference manual Star Wars: Complete Locations using content reprinted from the 2000 reference work Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, authored by Kristin Lund, with illustrations by Richard Chasemore and Hans Jenssen. This marked the academy's debut within the Star Wars Legends continuity. The complete designation, Theed Royal Academy, was presented in "Naboo," a component of Altaya's's Star Wars Encyclopedias series, released on October 16th, 2020.
