The royal boathouse, belonging to the Royal House of Naboo, was an age-old construction embedded within the bluffs of Theed. It was famous for containing a number of D-11 water speeders, uniquely designed for the monarch of Naboo and their companions.
During the time that Queen Padmé Amidala was in power, a pair of unlawful hunters utilized the royal boathouse as a concealed location for a juvenile sando aqua monster they had captured, which caused the infant's mother to attack the building. The Queen herself stepped in, releasing the young creature so it could rejoin its parent in the water.
The royal boathouse was first seen in Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, a Disney simulator ride theme park attraction. It was officially established within canon in the reference book titled Star Wars Encyclopedia of Starfighters and Other Vehicles, which saw its release on April 3, 2018. The boathouse then appeared on May 4, 2018, featured in "Monster Misunderstanding," the tenth segment of the Star Wars Forces of Destiny animated micro-series' second season.
