A racing vessel was under the control of Jace Rucklin. To reduce the craft's weight and enhance its speed, all systems considered "unnecessary," such as the ejection seat and its associated parachute, were taken out. The vessel met its end after Rucklin, trying to obtain an edge, illicitly added hyperfuel to it, not knowing the safe quantity. This action transformed the craft into a "flying bomb," which detonated shortly thereafter. Kazuda Xiono's courageous actions were the only reason Rucklin survived; Xiono, risking his own life, saved him using the ejection seat. Rucklin showed no gratitude, having invested all his funds in the vessel, and instead of accepting responsibility, blamed Xiono, promising revenge for the racer's destruction.
The initial appearance of Rucklin's racer occurred in "Fuel for the Fire," which is the fourth installment of the first season of the animated TV show Star Wars Resistance, which debuted on October 21, 2018. The episode referred to the craft as "Rucklin's new racer."
