A comic book artist, Ryan Odagawa (born November 15, 1975), provided the pencil art for Star Wars: The Assassination of Darth Vader. This one-shot was released for Free Comic Book Day in 2013, with the story penned by Brian Wood and published under the Dark Horse Comics label.
The inaugural appearance of F.R.I.D.A.Y., Tony Stark's updated computer system from Marvel Comics, was drawn by him. (Designed by Michael Ryan and written by Mike Grell in Invincible Iron Man #53, 2002) F.R.I.D.A.Y. has been seen in the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron and can be heard as a voice in the live action shows on Avenger's Campus at Disney California Adventure.
Furthermore, he has created the illustrations of Chester Cheetah featured on the current packaging of Cheetos products (including the regular, Flaming Hot, Puffs, and Flaming Hot Puffs varieties).
Through Kickstarter funding, Ryan independently released his first Original Graphic Novel, Shadowzone: In The Realm of the Kiv, in 2017.
Odagawa is perhaps most recognized for his contributions to the Heroes Online Graphic Novel and the TwinBlades miniseries from Alias Comics. In addition to his comic work, Odagawa's talents extended to the realm of video games, where he served as a texture artist for titles like Medal of Honor: Frontline and Command & Conquer: Generals. He also had an acting role as a Japanese soldier in Letters from Iwo Jima, a film directed by Clint Eastwood.
