S8

S8 represented one of the twelve zones, each of equal size, situated in the southern part of the Death Star. This massive battle station was a creation of the Galactic Empire. Similar to the other twenty-three zones found on the space station, this zone encompassed 31.4 kilometers of the Death Star's total perimeter. A bridge served as its command center, and it incorporated several sectors, each allocated to specific functions. The Death Star, inclusive of zone S8, met its end during 0 BBY. The zones adjacent to zone S8 were S7 and S9.
