The Saki system, a star system, was situated in the Bootana Hutta area of Hutt Space. Sakiya, a planet, was a component of this system.
The Sakiyans displayed minimal curiosity about matters outside their own star system and seldom journeyed far from their homeworld, Sakiya. Their enthusiasm for commerce or travel involving the galaxy in general was also quite low.
Because of its placement on the border of the Bootana Hutta, well inside Hutt Space, the Saki system avoided the oppressive rule of the Galactic Empire. Nevertheless, numerous Sakiyan technicians were compelled to move to Imperial research facilities, where they aided in the creation of an advanced series of Imperial repulsortanks.
The Yuuzhan Vong also overlooked the Saki system during their invasion of Hutt Space.
