Sakiya, alternatively called Saki, was a planet situated within the Bootana Hutta sector of Hutt Space. This world, characterized by its tropical climate and intense industrialization, served as the homeworld for the Sakiyan species.
Despite its location in close proximity to the astrographic heart of Hutt Space, the Sakiyan natives consistently fought off any and all attempts at conquest by the Hutts. By utilizing sophisticated repulsorlift technology, which the Hutts greatly desired, the Sakiyans maintained detailed evacuation strategies that were regularly updated. These strategies enabled them to swiftly move individuals, materials, and provisions to secure locations, while also enabling them to launch quick, disruptive strikes against the attacking forces, persisting until they retreated. Their constant readiness and rapid movement successfully thwarted invasions from the Sith, the Tion Hegemony, and the Hutts themselves.
During the time when the Eternal Empire held dominion over the galaxy, a short-lived slave revolt resulted in the complete destruction of multiple Hutt Cartel storage facilities, leaving only charred remains. Following this event, the Hutts made efforts to bring the Sakiyans back under their control.
