This blaster pistol, also known as a scout blaster or more frequently as a scout trooper blaster pistol, was a typical weapon employed by the scout troopers and Imperial Navy commandos within the ranks of the Galactic Empire. Furthermore, it is documented that Clone shadow troopers and clone scout troopers belonging to the 41st Elite Corps also utilized this hold-out weapon during the concluding phases of the Clone Wars.
Equipped with a phase amplifier and a side-mounted targeting scope, this small, single-handed blaster incorporated a small gas cell at the back. The barrel of the weapon was designed for short-range engagements. Scout troopers frequently stowed these weapons in a boot holster integrated into their armor. Due to the padded gloves worn by scout troopers, the pistol was designed with a pressure-sensitive grip instead of a traditional trigger. The enlarged finger guard allowed the trooper to maintain a grip with two gloved fingers.
