Battle of Xa Fel (11 ABY)
The clash at Xa Fel unfolded in 11 ABY at Xa Fel between the New Republic and the Imperial pirates known as the Invids.
The battle
A task force representing the New Republic journeyed to the planet Xa Fel for an unannounced inspection. Their objective was to compel the local KDY executives to finally adhere to New Republic environmental mandates, which had been neglected because of the Thrawn crisis and Operation Shadow Hand. Simultaneously, the Invids pirate group, led by Leonia Tavira, designated Xa Fel as their next target for plundering. Arriving while the New Republic inspection was underway, the Khuiumin Survivors fighter squadrons, commanded by Captain Jenos Idanian (actually Corran Horn), successfully defended the Invidious and prevented significant pirate losses, enabling their escape into hyperspace.
