Khuiumin Survivors

The Khuiumin Survivors constituted a group of pirates linked to the Invids of Leonia Tavira.

Origin

These Survivors represented the remnants of the Eyttyrmin Batiiv pirates. Once a force of eight thousand, the Eyttyrmin Batiiv pirates were completely annihilated by the Galactic Empire during the Battle of Khuiumin. Fewer than three hundred pirates, along with a single CR90 corvette named the Backstab, under the command of Captain Jacob Nive, managed to escape the Imperial onslaught. Vowing revenge on the Empire, the remaining members began identifying as the Khuiumin Survivors, with Nive becoming their de facto leader.

During the Emperor's Reign

At the height of the Empire's power, the Survivors operated as mercenaries, accepting only assignments that involved eliminating Imperials.

In 1 ABY, they participated in the destruction of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Brazen.

Following Palpatine's death, the Survivors reverted to their former piratical activities.

With the Invids

When Leonia Tavira and her Invidious commenced their pirating operations, several pirate groups aligned with her, including the Survivors. As part of the Invids, the Survivors furnished Tavira with some of her most skilled Tri-fighter pilots, earning respect within the organization as its most disciplined unit. The Survivors reoccupied the former Eyttyrmin Batiiv base on Courkrus, prompting other Invid factions to follow suit. The Survivors frequented a cantina known as the Crash, adorned with wreckage from starfighters downed by Survivor pilots, as well as from crashes that Survivor pilots had survived.

During their time with the Invids, Jenos Idanian, who was actually the undercover Corran Horn, joined the Survivors. Idanian quickly advanced within the group, becoming the leader of the elite Bolt Squadron and Nive's second-in-command. Eventually, Corran revealed his true identity as a Jedi to Nive, using another alias, Keiran Halcyon. He and Luke Skywalker persuaded Nive to betray Tavira and the Invids, leading the Survivors to break away. The Survivors led Booster Terrik and the Errant Venture to Tavira's base on Susevfi, with Corran suspecting they would establish operations on that planet.

Aftermath

Despite Nive's increasing discomfort with the Survivors' acts of theft and murder, the group seemingly returned to piracy. The Survivors were eventually completely destroyed by the pirate-hunting starship Naritus. Although they were a highly organized and skilled pirate band, they ultimately failed to adapt to New Republic society.
