The clash known as the Battle of Susevfi transpired during the Galactic Civil War. It involved the New Republic battling against a joint force of Invids and Jensaarai on the planet Susevfi in the year 11 ABY. The primary objective of the New Republic forces was the rescue of Mirax Terrik Horn.
Corran Horn, a Jedi Knight, sought to locate his wife after she was abducted by the former Moff Leonia Tavira. To achieve this, he infiltrated the Khuiumin Survivors, one of Tavira's pirate squadrons, under the alias Jenos Idanian. Subsequently, he haunted the Invids on Courkrus, posing as a Jedi Knight. In response, Tavira dispatched five Jensaarai warriors to capture Horn. However, they were swiftly defeated, largely due to the intervention of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. From the captured Jensaarai, the Jedi learned that Tavira's main base was located on Susevfi.

Horn, Skywalker, Ooryl Qrygg, and Elegos A'Kla set off for Susevfi. Before departing, they entrusted Jacob Nive, the leader of the Khuiumin Survivors, with the knowledge of Horn's true identity. They also offered him a pardon and a fresh start for the Survivors, provided they guarded the captured Jensaarai with an ysalamir. This ysalamir prevented the Jensaarai from sensing the Jedi's presence upon their arrival on Susevfi.
Upon landing, the group made their way to the governor's palace, where they believed Mirax was being held captive. They launched an assault, overcoming the stormtrooper guards, and Horn utilized the Force to pinpoint Mirax's cell. Skywalker freed her from the Force-induced trance she was in, leading to a joyous reunion between Horn and his wife.

Finding themselves outnumbered by the alerted stormtroopers, preventing a direct return to the spaceport, the group opted to ascend the tallest tower of the palace towards the landing pad, hoping to find a vessel for escape. During their ascent, they encountered the Jensaarai, led by their Saarai-kaar. The Saarai-kaar appeared convinced that she was destined to face Horn in combat, and a duel ensued. When Horn's lightsaber proved ineffective against her cortosis armor, he projected an image of Nikkos Tyris, the Anzat he had witnessed killing his grandfather in a dream, into her mind. This Anzat shared the Saarai-kaar's distinctive lightsaber style. Mirax managed to stun her, and with Skywalker having subdued the remaining Jensaarai, Tavira remained as the final threat.

Having lost control of the situation on the moon, Tavira escaped in a shuttle before her adversaries could reach her. She returned to the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Invidious, intending to use it to obliterate the palace and prevent Horn's escape. However, Rogue Squadron, the Khuiumin Survivors, and Booster Terrik, Mirax's father, aboard the Star Destroyer Errant Venture, intercepted the Star Destroyer. As the two sides engaged in combat in orbit, Horn employed a powerful mind trick to instill fear in Tavira. He made her believe that a massive New Republic fleet, including the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Lusankya and the recently destroyed superweapon, the Sun Crusher, was approaching. Convinced that she had been lured into a trap by the Jedi, Tavira fled into hyperspace.
The Errant Venture, Rogue Squadron, and the Survivors assisted in securing Susevfi, and an agreement was established that allowed the Survivors to serve as the planet's security force. Horn and the others confronted the captured Jensaarai and learned about their history. They came to the conclusion that the Jensaarai had not fully embraced the ways of the Sith to become followers of the dark side and instead considered themselves to be the true inheritors of the Jedi tradition. Horn and Skywalker managed to reason with the Saarai-kaar, convincing her that the Jensaarai's perspective on the Force was not entirely accurate. They extended an invitation to them to join the New Jedi Order.
