Imperial Plaza
The expansive public area known as the Imperial Plaza encircled the Senate Building located on Coruscant. Prior to Sheev Palpatine's ascent from his position as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic to the ruler of the Galactic Empire, this open space was referred to as either the Senate Plaza or the Republic Plaza. A half-decade following the foundation of the Empire, proposals were in place to construct a massive Palpatine statue within the Imperial Plaza.
