Separatist stronghold

The Separatist stronghold functioned as a fortified base for the Mantellian Separatist Movement. It was situated deep within Mount Avilatan, a volcano located on Ord Mantell.

History

The still-active volcano, Mount Avilatan, housed a substantial base. Initially, it was believed to have been constructed by a criminal figure known as 'The Corellian.' However, several years into the ongoing civil war, the gangster vanished from his volcanic fortress.

The original assumption placed the stronghold on the island fortress of Mannett Point, but Republic operatives uncovered its true location within Mount Avilatan.

Layout

Exterior

From the outside, the Separatist stronghold presented the appearance of a volcano. It was entirely contained within the volcano's structure. Mount Avilatan provided an unobstructed view of Fort Garnik, Mannett Point, and the entirety of the island of Avilatan.

Interior

Separatist stronghold

The volcanic fortress comprised three distinct levels. The entry level, also known as level one, consisted of a lengthy corridor adjoined by various antechambers. This hallway culminated in the volcano's core. Despite being elevated above the lava, level one was the closest to the lava floor, with much of its surface composed of volcanic rock. Level one served primarily as a cargo handling area. Lava eruptions could easily engulf the ground floor of level one.

Level two was accessible via an elevator from level one. This level featured a spacious catwalk that encircled a significant portion of the volcano core's perimeter. Several antechambers extended into the volcano's walls. The majority of the command facilities were situated on level two, where Separatist commanders were frequently present.

Level three was the most expansive of the three levels. It incorporated storage facilities for freight, command centers, and a sizable hangar capable of accommodating multiple freighters. Separatist leaders also maintained a presence here.
