Sera Tharen was the spouse of Renn Tharen and the parent of both Bria Tharen and Pavik Tharen. She is the author of the publication The Perfect Corellian Dinner Party.
Sera had been encouraging Bria to marry Dael Levare, a member of one of the wealthiest clans on Corellia. Sera became enraged when Bria rejected him due to his infidelity, believing she had destroyed the wedding arrangements. This disagreement resulted in Bria's departure from her family home and her subsequent journey as a pilgrim on Ylesia.
Upon Bria's return to Corellia alongside Han Solo, following her escape from Ylesia, Sera and Pavik expressed their disapproval of Bria's associate. The situation escalated with the arrival of law enforcement officials investigating Solo, who was targeted with a death mark issued by Teroenza. This event triggered a dispute between Bria and her mother, leading to their permanent estrangement and a cessation of all communication.
