"Shadows of Darkness", a brief narrative crafted by Charlene Newcomb and featuring artwork from Mike Vilardi, first appeared in Star Wars Adventure Journal 4, released by West End Games in November of 1994. Subsequently, it was preserved digitally at Hyperspace starting on January 21, 2005. The story takes place before the timeline of the Thrawn Trilogy.
