Shaptives, a Jedi Master of the male persuasion, dedicated his service to the Jedi Order during its twilight years as part of the Jedi Starfighter Corps. Known as a Jedi ace, Shaptives formed a casual relationship with Anakin Skywalker, then a young Padawan, after Skywalker's arrival at the Order in 32 BBY.
Like many Jedi of his era, Shaptives was brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant as a youngling. He later graduated from the Jedi academy and was eventually knighted after successfully passing the Jedi Trials. As a Knight, Shaptives focused his studies on the path of the Guardians, becoming an ace pilot and enlisting in the Jedi Starfighter Corps. After being promoted to the rank of Master, Shaptives encountered the young Anakin Skywalker in the aftermath of the Battle of Naboo. Having heard about Skywalker's triumph in destroying a Trade Federation Droid Control Ship, Master Shaptives awarded Skywalker an honorary patch, typically worn by members of the Corps.
