Shiner was an R2-series astromech droid who was the assigned droid of New Republic pilot Myn Donos. He served alongside Donos in Talon Squadron up until its annihilation at Gravan Seven, after which he accompanied Donos to the newly created Wraith Squadron. Donos considered him to be the only remaining member of Talon Squadron, the destruction of which he blamed himself for. During the Wraiths' engagement with the Blood Nest pirates, Shiner met his end, an event that almost plunged Donos into a deep depression.
