In the year 382 BBY, the extended siege of Bardotta, which lasted five days' time, saw Porter Engle, a Jedi Knight, in combat against numerous mercenaries and pirates upon the planet of Bardotta. This accomplishment led to him being known as the "Blade of Bardotta."
Behind the scenes
Within the fictional universe, the book titled Chronicles of the Jedi, authored by Jedi Master Harli Cogra, mistakenly claims that Barash Silvain made her vow following the failure of her scheme to aid the inhabitants of Bardotta, which resulted in numerous fatalities during the siege. A comparable series of occurrences, although transpiring on Gansevor rather than Bardotta, was subsequently presented in Star Wars: The High Republic — The Blade as the justification for Silvain's decision to undertake the vow. Furthermore, the series clarified that Engle's journey to Bardotta occurred solely after his sister had committed to the vow.
