The Mark I Sith war droid served the Sith Empire as a combat unit in the Great Galactic War.

This Mark I Sith war droid utilized a quadrupedal locomotion system and was equipped with dual blaster cannons mounted on its arms. Its design shared noticeable similarities with the droidekas that the Confederacy of Independent Systems would later employ during the Clone Wars millennia later. Their movement speed appears to be slower than other droids of that era, likely attributable to its substantial armor. However, due to the pointed structure of their legs, the Sith War Droids could traverse more difficult terrain than most contemporary droids.
In contrast to droidekas, the Sith war droids lacked shields or any other form of primary defensive capabilities.
Darth Malgus deployed these droids with Sith Warriors to engage Republic forces during both the Battle of Alderaan and the subsequent Sacking of Coruscant.

Blur Studio rendering artist Alessandro Baldasseroni's production renders identify the droid as a Colicoid Droid. Following the redesignation of the Expanded Universe as Star Wars Legends, a droid visually akin to the Sith war droid Mark I made an appearance in the canon comic story "The Misadventures of Triple-Zero and Beetee," featured in the twentieth issue of the Star Wars: Darth Vader comic book series.
