Skahtul, a Barabel pursuer of wanted individuals for monetary compensation, managed to apprehend Luke Skywalker. She then attempted to leverage the capture for a greater financial gain by pitting the factions desiring Skywalker against one another. Despite harboring admiration for Luke's actions against the Galactic Empire and even sympathizing somewhat with the Alliance to Restore the Republic, her primary motivation was financial reward.

When a bounty was placed on Luke Skywalker's head by Prince Xizor of the Black Sun criminal organization, Skahtul accepted the contract to capture him. She followed Skywalker to Tatooine, where she encountered an Imperial agent in a local establishment serving drinks who was to provide assistance. Together, they devised a plan to intercept Skywalker as he approached Xizor, observing the Mos Espa Race. The Xizor Transport Company had supplied several luxurious sand barges for spectators; Skahtul gained access to Xizor's personal barge, where she awaited Skywalker's arrival.
Upon finally identifying the young Jedi, Skahtul confronted him, brandishing a powerful blaster pistol. However, Skywalker was prepared for the encounter, having intentionally led the seeker of rewards into a trap. During the ensuing conflict, a stray blaster shot damaged the steering mechanism of the sail barge, causing it to lose control. After the barge crashed into the sand, Skahtul found no trace of the Jedi, but remained determined to continue her pursuit.
In 3.5 ABY, Skahtul spearheaded a group of bounty hunters to Kothlis, where they ultimately captured Luke Skywalker. With Xizor wanting Skywalker dead and Vader wanting him alive, Skahtul detained Skywalker at a compound on Kothlis while attempting to negotiate the highest possible payment from both parties. This strategy proved unsuccessful, as Skywalker escaped the compound with the aid of Lando Calrissian.
One year later, Skahtul was present on Hurd's Moon and met with Savan, Xizor's niece, who was on a mission to capture the Human replica droid Guri. The droid was under the protection of her creator, the droid scientist Massad Thrumble, when Kar Yang, hired by Savan, invaded his secure location to seize Guri. Following the failed attempt, Thrumble enhanced his security measures, making it impossible for anyone to approach Guri. Skahtul informed Savan of the difficult circumstances, advising her to wait for Guri to leave before attempting to capture her, but Savan disregarded her advice.
