Kar Yang

Kar Yang, a male from the Hiitian species, held the reputation of being the second-most accomplished and feared bounty hunter throughout the galaxy. His droid assistant, Lintu, frequently accompanied him. Rising to prominence after the Battle of Endor, he pursued Guri.

Biography

By 4 ABY, Kar Yang, a male Hiitian, had earned the distinction of being the second-most skilled and well-known bounty hunter in the galaxy. Despite being a more proficient gunslinger than the Chadra-Fan Tutti Snibit, the renowned Yang still relied on Snibit for information on several occasions.

Falleen antiques dealer Azool hired Yang to capture Guri, a Human replica droid, who possessed sensitive Black Sun intelligence that could give control of the syndicate to whoever held it. Azool was actually Savan, the niece of Black Sun's deceased Underlord Prince Xizor. Savan provided Yang with Guri's location, which she obtained from the Rodian Prevaro. Savan secretly monitored Yang through his droid, Lintu.

Aboard his ship, the Hiitian tracked his target to the wreckage of an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer belonging to the Imperial Navy, which Guri had destroyed. Impressed by this, he continued to follow Guri's trail. She had visited a cantina on Hurd's Moon to enlist her creator, Massad Thrumble, the cantina's owner, to remove her programming as an assassin.

Yang located Thrumble, who initially refused to give up Guri's location, turning the cantina's patrons against the hunter when threatened. After dealing with his attackers, Yang convinced Thrumble to reveal that Guri was on the sparsely populated planet Murninkam, which was home to the rogue scientist Spinda Caveel. On his way there, he updated Azool on his progress. Fighting through Caveel's robotic defenses in space and evading the Pikkel Sisters, his subordinates, Yang observed from afar as Guri infiltrated the scientist's fortress. She retrieved A-OIC, a specialized medical that Caveel had stolen from Thrumble. Just before Guri departed the planet, Yang placed a homing device on her starship, the Stinger.

After successfully finding Guri, he told Lintu that he had no intention of returning her to his employer. Guri was far more valuable than the bounty he had been promised. Yang intended to keep Guri for his own purposes. Lintu waited until he thought Yang was asleep and then reported back to Savan via comm. But Yang had become suspicious of his droid and overheard the conversation. Yang and Lintu tracked the Stinger to Hurd's Moon. After landing, Yang sent the droid ahead to scout and shot him in the back.

Finally, Yang found his target in Thrumble's hidden laboratory deep within Hurd's Moon. Guri was being prepared for a deep neural modification, but Yang forced her off the operating table at gunpoint. While she was briefly in Yang's custody, he forced Guri to tie up Thrumble and then led her to the lab exit. Guri managed to knock the blaster from Yang's grip, and the two engaged in hand-to-hand combat. Yang was able to recover his blaster from the floor and took a shot at Guri, though only grazed her leg. Once again, Yang had his quarry at gunpoint, though did not fire as he wanted her alive. Guri took advantage of his hesitance and punched him in the chest, tearing his heart out with her bare hand.

The droid A-OIC dragged Yang's bloodied carcass away while Thrumble and Guri were forced to recalibrate the medical instruments thanks to Yang's interruption.
