Spinda Caveel

Spinda Caveel, a renegade scientist, harbored a sinister ambition: to personally execute some droid reprogramming.

He established a fortified stronghold near Murninkam, protected by a comprehensive Full-globe class-one Imperial shield. Caveel, the employer of the Pikkel Sisters, tasked them with stealing A-OIC from Massad Thrumble. Subsequently, he compelled the droid to reprogram other droids for his service. During the modification of an antiquated battle droid to Caveel's specifications, Doc subtly tampered with its programming, ensuring it would turn on Caveel at Doc's discretion. That moment arrived with the appearance of the Human replica droid Guri. Initially, Caveel anticipated the intruder's demise in the Kajiin Swamp, but Guri soon breached his laboratory. After overcoming his guards, Caveel attempted to attack Guri, only to be restrained and subdued by the battle droid acting on Doc's revised instructions. Guri then departed with the stolen droid.

Subsequently, Caveel, accompanied by the Sisters, journeyed back to Hurd's Moon with the goal of capturing Doc and Guri, emphasizing the need to bring Doc back unharmed, and at least Guri's head intact.

As the trio neared Thrumble's facility, they detected a commotion: Savan and her mercenaries were attempting to infiltrate the premises to seize Guri, engaging in combat with the scientist's security forces. While fleeing, they unexpectedly encountered the Heroes of Yavin. A firefight erupted, but Luke Skywalker deflected a shot using his lightsaber, injuring Zan. A blast from a Wookiee damaged Caveel's coat. The three retreated, with Caveel lamenting the damage to his attire, while the sisters likened him to Chewbacca, the most renowned member of his species. Caveel questioned the presence of Alliance heroes and refused to abandon the mission with the frightened sisters. Caveel, acknowledging their past exploits, dismissed them as mere luck, prompting Zan to highlight their role in destroying Jabba, the two Death Stars and also the Emperor Palpatine, and Zu added that no amount of money could convince them to go against "that kind of luck".

Caveel brandished his pistol, declaring that he would not permit anyone to desert him, but the Sisters outdrew him and shot him. The sound of the blaster fire alerted the Heroes, who discovered Caveel's corpse on the floor. The sisters claimed self-defense due to a disagreement with their former employer and asserted that they had no animosity towards the Heroes, before departing.
