The eight-page comic story "Skreej" appeared in Star Wars Tales 10, and was released on December 12, 2001 by Dark Horse Comics. Mike Kennedy penned "Skreej", with lettering done by Steve Dutro, and pencils by Francisco Ruiz Velasco. The story, which takes place in 4 ABY, follows Tamtel Skreej as he searches Tatooine, a planet, for his stolen possessions.
On the planet of Tatooine, Tamtel Skreej finds himself at an Imperial Information Center. He explains to the officer on duty that his identification and belongings were pilfered after he became intoxicated the previous evening. The officer implies that a bribe might expedite the return of his stolen items. Enraged, Skreej exits the building, labeling the officer a "mercenary." Equally angered by the lack of a bribe, the officer dismisses Tamtel Skreej as a mere "tourist".
Seeking solace, Skreej enters a local cantina with the intention of drinking away his troubles. He orders a pint, but upon realizing he cannot afford it, he begins to worry. A kind local intervenes and covers the cost of his drink. The local points out that Skreej's clean appearance marks him as an outsider, as even the wealthiest Tatooine residents are typically covered in dust. The local then attempts to sell Skreej one of his maps. Skreej then understands that the local had seen him in the cantina just before the robbery occurred. The local recounts that Skreej was heavily intoxicated and had to be carried out by his female companion. The local persists in trying to sell Skreej a map, but Skreej continues to press for details about the previous night, eventually learning that they departed in a rented speeder. He abruptly leaves the cantina as the local shouts after him, "Hey! Where you goin'? You owe me 8 credits! Lousy tourist…"
After visiting every speeder rental business in the area, Skreej arrives at Randal's Rentals, a low-quality, run-down establishment. Through persistent questioning of the proprietor, Skreej discovers that the thief traveled to the Jundland Wastes and Jabba's Palace after renting a speeder.
Subsequently, Skreej manages to hitch a ride with a Swoop gang, which takes him to Jabba's Palace. After being denied entry by the Gatekeeper Droid, Skreej gains access by concealing himself within a Jawa's crate. As he sneaks through the palace, he spots someone wearing his hat. Skreej shouts at the man, who is surprised by Skreej's presence. The man attempts to escort Skreej out of the palace, but Tamtel begins to loudly protest that his job has been stolen. He calls for security. As Barada and a Gamorrean guard approach, the man shoves Skreej into a pit labeled "Rancor Chum." The man then introduces himself to Barada, also claiming to be "Tamtel Skreej".
