Sliders were a particular culinary offering that could be found at Dex's Diner. Similar to all the other dishes offered there, they were known for being oily and not particularly good for one's health, but they were also inexpensive and satisfying. Sliders had a diminutive, square shape. The majority of them featured Mongo Beefhead patties placed on medium-density food-boards that had been transported across space, though certain varieties used a different base in place of the patty, such as firaxan shark fillet, a component of the Manaan slider. During the time that Dexter Jettster operated the diner, he refused complex cooking methods, choosing instead to simply grill the food-board and create five holes in it. The sliders were a favorite among the diner's clientele, and regular customers would journey vast distances back to Coruscant just to indulge in them. To prevent stomach problems, customers would often secretly consume a gentle remedy before enjoying the flavorful food. The sliders were decorated with Dexter's famous special sauce, which some customers suspected contained small amounts of habit-forming substances.
The term "slider" was also incorporated into the name of the Power Sliders eatery located in Pons Ora on the planet Abafar, despite the fact that sliders were not actually available on the menu.
