Solay Royal Court

The Solay Royal Court functioned as the governing authority on the world of Solay. For a period spanning at least five decades, the court subjected the indigenous people to oppressive rule, which ultimately sparked a minor insurgency spearheaded by the insurgent commander, Raggold. Circa 4 ABY, the court's leader was King Blackart, a despotic cybernetic organism. As a subordinate entity of the Galactic Empire, the royal court received support from the Empire and its King throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War. The Solay Royal Guard provided defense for the court, and its members also demonstrated allegiance to the Empire.

In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, and upon hearing the report that Emperor Palpatine had met his demise, the Solay rebellion experienced a surge in power. Unbeknownst to the court, an Imperial Governor had been providing financial backing to the rebels, with the intention of eliminating the court to establish direct imperial control over the planet. Raggold, the rebel commander, took money from the Imperials to launch a conclusive attack on the royal court and capture the King. The scheme was successful, resulting in the court's downfall. King Blackart was apprehended and incarcerated, but he soon managed to flee the planet. As the Empire had anticipated, they intervened, swiftly dismantling the triumphant rebel movement and seizing control of Solay from the rebels.
