Sonic disruptor

Considered among the most brutally destructive sonic weapons available, the Galactic Republic prohibited the sonic disruptor, even prohibiting its usage against the Sith. This weapon caused complete disintegration of its target, resulting in very little remaining evidence of the person affected. Protective measures like energy shields were ineffective against this weapon's power; even a Jedi wielding a lightsaber could not defend against its sonic attacks. Because of its substantial energy consumption, the disruptor required a brief cooling period between each shot.

The bounty hunting siblings Dob and Del Moomo were known to carry this weapon.

Within the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, the sonic disruptor was depicted as a rifle-style weapon. However, the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide, a more recent source, categorizes it as a pistol.
