The Sran system existed within the Ash Worlds sector of the Slice region, a segment of the broader Outer Rim Territories. The Sran Outpost installation was located in this system during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Before the Alliance High Command base's abandonment on the planet of Dantooine amidst the war, the Sran Outpost was assaulted, with the Rebel officer named Risiev Credal taking part in the defense.
The reference work The Essential Atlas, published in 2009 and written by Daniel Wallace together with Jason Fry, initially introduced the Sran system, locating it within grid coordinate T-6.
