Publisher's summary

The Star Wars narrative arrives at its crucial juncture…

The Separatists have pushed the already struggling Republic to the edge of destruction after years of civil conflict. The Senate on Coruscant nervously observes Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's increasingly aggressive erosion of constitutional freedoms, justified as necessary for the Republic's security. Yoda, Mace Windu, and their Jedi peers struggle with the Chancellor's unsettling power grab, as he attempts to control the Jedi Council. Anakin Skywalker, the prophesied Chosen One destined to bring equilibrium to the Force, finds himself increasingly haunted by the fear of his secret love, Senator Padmé Amidala, dying.

As galactic warfare intensifies, the scene is set for a climactic showdown: Obi-Wan embarks on a hazardous mission to eliminate General Grievous, the feared Separatist military leader. Palpatine, seeking to consolidate his power, skillfully manipulates public sentiment against the Jedi. Anakin, conflicted and plagued by disturbing premonitions, teeters on the brink of a decision that will reshape the galaxy. Darth Sidious, whose influence grows ever stronger, prepares to deliver the final, devastating blow to the Republic…and to anoint a terrifying new Sith Lord: Darth Vader.
