Star Wars #71: Return to Stenos represents the seventy-first installment in the Marvel Star Wars comic book saga.
Lando Calrissian, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 pilot the Millennium Falcon to the planet of Stenos. Their mission: to locate IG-88 and Bossk, believing they may have collaborated with Boba Fett in the search for the Millennium Falcon. Their hope is that one of these bounty hunters will guide them to Fett, who continues to hold Han Solo captive within a carbonite encasement. As Lando and Luke gear up to enter the city's heart, Chewbacca and R2-D2 remain with the ship. Given that droids and Wookiees are an uncommon sight on Stenos, they wish to avoid attracting undue attention. The pair decide their search should begin at the closest bar, but almost immediately upon entering, Lando is recognized by Barpotomous Drebble, an old adversary. Drebble loudly announces a bounty of 10,000 credits for Lando's capture. Despite Calrissian's initial disbelief that anyone would accept Drebble's offer, the cantina erupts into a firefight as every patron seeks to claim the reward. Hiding behind a table, Skywalker resolves to act, utilizing his lightsaber to sever the cantina's support pillar, causing a significant portion of the structure to collapse. During their escape, they unexpectedly spot Bossk among the crowd and give chase. However, their pursuit leads them directly back to the front of the bar they had just fled, where they encounter a fresh wave of individuals eager to collect Drebble's bounty.
The two Rebels flee, only to be separated. Skywalker stumbles into an alley, where he is surprised to find Rik Duel and Dani, alive and well. Rik recounts how he and his crew escaped the Stenaxes by placing the blame on Quorl Matrin and fleeing amidst the ensuing chaos. Although Skywalker remains wary of Duel, the smuggler insists that he harbors no ill will and requires assistance in locating Chihdo, his Rodian partner who has mysteriously disappeared. As Skywalker, Dani, and Duel navigate the streets of Stenos, Luke is pulled aside by Lando, who had been concealed in a nearby alley. Lando informs Luke that he has located Han. Lando indicates a carbonite slab being transported through the city streets, and the two Rebels begin to follow it, anticipating a reunion with their friend. The trail leads them to a large building, where the carbonite block is deposited in a spacious room. However, upon approaching the slab, they discover that the person encased in carbonite is not Han, but rather, Chihdo. Bossk and IG-88C had strategically used the carbonite block to lure the Rebels into their trap. As Luke and Lando attempt to retreat, they find themselves surrounded by a large contingent of bounty hunters led by Bossk, who declares, "You're surrounded."
