Styanax
Styanax were predatory aquatic reptiles of a ferocious, serpentine nature, originating from Tralus. These creatures are classified as reptiles. Their heads featured heavy armor plating. Their jaws were incredibly powerful. Furthermore, the styanax had a venomous barb at the end of its tail, used like a whip to strike potential meals. The venom, while not deadly, would drain the victim's energy, ultimately resulting in paralysis. Humans and Selonian colonists, however, hunted the Styanax. Their ability to see in the dark depths made them difficult to capture. Hunters of the styanax, referred to as "stabmen," would congregate in their broad-beamed nagaks on the Sea of Jarad during the styanax mating season, pursuing them with specialized styanax lances. Experienced stabmen tell the story of Old Gloxix, an enormous, 14-meter styanax lacking a stinger, whose tough skin, despite being riddled with lance wounds and scars, allowed it to evade capture for many years.
