Subjugation of Sinton

The Sinton Subjugation transpired within the Galactic Empire's era of power (during the reign), specifically before 3 ABY. This event involved the Humanocentric Empire's conquest of Sinton, a planet in the Mid Rim region populated by non-Humans. Ardan and, supposedly, Sulamar were among the Imperial personnel involved in this operation.

By 12 ABY, Sulamar, a minor Imperial technician falsely calling himself a general, routinely decorated his uniform with numerous medals, claiming they were earned from victories in past campaigns. Sulamar constantly exaggerated his military achievements, some of which were entirely fabricated, and claimed to have participated in the Sinton Subjugation. The truth was that Sulamar's military career was a failure.

Behind the scenes

The Sinton Subjugation was first referenced in Kevin J. Anderson's 1995 novel, Darksaber. Throughout the narrative, the character Imperial General Sulamar boasts about his military accomplishments, including the Sinton Subjugation, until he is revealed to be a fraud, casting doubt on his involvement in the event and even its actual occurrence. The Sinton Subjugation was later confirmed as a real event on the "Lieutenant Commander Ardan" card within the 1997 Dagobah Limited expansion of the Decipher Star Wars Customizable Card Game.
