The sublevel containment chamber was an underground location at Tantiss Base on Wayland, a specific planet. Its purpose was the containment of cloned Zillo Beasts, which Royce Hemlock called "the assets," and which were created by the Advanced Science Division. These beasts were housed inside substantial, circular Zillo tanks that held liquid and were illuminated by numerous floodlights; clone commandos and TK stormtroopers provided security in the area. To subdue the beasts when they exhibited aggression, a NNJ-40 "Thunderbolt" long-range ion cannon was installed in a raised position overlooking the tank.
